Put the LOVE in LOVECRAFTIAN HORROR! Perform terrifying rituals to win the affections of eldritch horrors and smooch ’em… at any cost!
Obsessed with occult rituals, you have finally obtained the last thing you need to summon the eldritch horror that has been haunting your dreams; a strange, bright-pink Necronomicon. You perform the only ritual that doesn’t appear to be insane ramblings, and inadvertently summon Ln’eta, a cute cthulhu-like girl. She agrees to a kiss, on the condition that you perform a few rituals from the book for her first. Looking back at the Necronomicon… all of the other pages suddenly make sense?
- Three chapters of laughs, screams, and tears, all in one thick package!
- Every decision you make will significantly affect gameplay and determine which ending you arrive at!
- Immersive re-imagining of the visual novel genre loaded with gameplay!
- “Three” “fully-voiced” “dateable” “girls”
- A stylish artistic/musical direction reminiscent of old-school anime and dating sims!
- No horror elements or danger whatsoever
This was hilariously adorable! Plus now Ln’eta is one of my top teir waifus, and Nyanlathotep (Auntie Nyan Nyan) is high up there too (Why they gotta make them Eldritch Gods so god damn thicc?!) Usually short games don’t hold much water for me, but the mechanics of chanting incantation by dragging your cursor over the R’lyehian words and acquiring the specific combinations of wardrobe and/or items on you made it more of a memory game – ESPECIALLY Nyanlathotep’s chapter – CHRIST that was challenging.
A pleasant surprise was seeing Autumn Ivy’s name in the end credits. I was unaware that she was a backer of the game and got her name on it. On another note, I now have a new cosplay goal, Ln’eta! Yes, I’m male – but I’ve always had this cosplay goal to dress up as a sexy anime woman and trick all the Chad Dude-Bros at a convention to take a picture with me and when they say “Thank You”, that’s when I bust out my deepest “You’re Welcome!” and watch the smoke pour out of their ears as they try to figure out what just happened.
In the course of the game, there are TWELVE possible endings, 3 in the first chapter, 7 in the second chapter and 2 in the third chapter. I only managed to unlock 10 of the 12, and I will be going back to unlock those last two – I was trying to do so at the end of session three, but it got a little too drunk out, and could no longer concentrate. BUT I WILL HAVE THEM! The replay factor of this game is minimal, unless you have Chapter 3 unlocked, where the challenge there is to perform Counter Evil Spells based on audio and visual clues in the game which are chosen at random. If you choose the wrong ccounter evil spell or take too long, you lose a heart, if you lose all three – it’s game over.
