So, with the help of my friend JoseiKage, I was able to install and play Corpse party the PSP Version, which is gorier, scarier and overall better. The art is better, the music is better, and the buttered poopers are better. So we’re starting all over.
Since this is an emulation, I was able to find the emulation software AND the game for free. I seriously advise everyone that anyone ever wants to play emulated games on their PC, that you make sure you read up on how to install and operate the emulation software properly. The main reason I’ve never done this before is because I just didn’t know how to. I’m still kinda fuzzy on how it all works, so I am very thankful that I have friends who know exactly how to.
Overall, the story of Corpse Party (now that I finally finished it), is fairly decent. I felt there were some characters that didn’t need to be involved and maybe a few less twists, but in the end – I was pleasantly entertained. Translation from Japanese Games to American games is ALWAYS a difficult process, and I was very happy to see that we didn’t have any “ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US” moments in this one.
I am going to assume that the storyline for the STEAM VERSION of Corpse Party is pretty much the same, but the graphics and unnecessary censoring just rubbed me the wrong way, so I would NOT recommend spending the 14.99 on the Steam Version of Corpse Party. Get yourself an emulator, or if you can, an old PSP, and enjoy the original. It’s like the old additive goes: if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.
