I got the great pleasure to do a duet with Madame Macabre. So when she pried me for subject matter, I suggested a classic tale that wasn’t at the very top like Jeff the Killer or Slenderman. We came up with Candle Cove. Madame Macabre came up with the melody, the lyrics, EVERYTHING! I’m just the schlub who sang that ear worm into everyone’s head.

Candle Cove has long since been one of my favorite classic pastas! This song was a lot of fun to make, and I hope you enjoy the collaboration between WellheyProductions’ Murphy and I!

Lyrics

Call me Mr. Skin taker
I’ll give you a show
Hear the crashing of the waves
on the ship down below
Call me Mr. Skin taker
I’ll give you a show
Hear the crashing of the waves
on the ship down below

Through the snow and dim static glow
come away with me
come and play with me
Where no grown people are allowed to go
Come and sing with me
Come and stay with me

Something in my bones says this is wrong
but I’m so enthralled by his dapper siren song
climb aboard the good old laughing stock
Swore it spoke my name just imagine what a shock

back in the cove where no one ever goes
he’ll grind your skin and make them into clothes
Deep in the cave where light can’t even reach
They’ll find your remains scattered on the beach

Call me Mr. Skin taker (Oh skintaker)
I’ll give you a show (Oh Skintaker)
Hear the crashing of the waves (Oh Skintaker
on the ship down below (Please don’t take my own)
Call me Mr. Skin taker (Oh skintaker)
I’ll give you a show (Oh Skintaker)
Hear the crashing of the waves (Oh Skintaker
on the ship down below (Please don’t take my own)
Call me Mr. Skin taker
I’ll give you a show
Hear the crashing of the waves
on the ship down below

Though the people here may look strange
just pay them no mind
we’ll leave them all behind
They may warn you off say you’ll change
no problems to find
can’t you see they’re blind

Something here is feeling very wrong
I’m no longer disillusioned by his song
silence did descend upon this land
I can’t even hear the crunching of the sand

back in the cove where no one ever goes
he’ll grind your skin and make them into clothes
Deep in the cave where light can’t even reach
They’ll find your remains scattered on the beach

Call me Mr. Skin taker (Oh skintaker)
I’ll give you a show (Oh Skintaker)
Hear the crashing of the waves (Oh Skintaker
on the ship down below (Please don’t take my own)
Call me Mr. Skin taker (Oh skintaker)
I’ll give you a show (Oh Skintaker)
Hear the crashing of the waves (Oh Skintaker
on the ship down below (Please don’t take my own)

Voices drift through the air
screams filled with agony everywhere
In this cacophony
noise fills my mind till I can no longer see
Oh Skintaker, Oh Skintaker
Oh Skintaker
Please don’t take my own

Call me Mr. Skin taker (Oh skintaker)
I’ll give you a show (Oh Skintaker)
Hear the crashing of the waves (Oh Skintaker
on the ship down below (Please don’t take my own)
Call me Mr. Skin taker (Oh skintaker)
I’ll give you a show (Oh Skintaker)
Hear the crashing of the waves (Oh Skintaker
on the ship down below (Please don’t take my own)
Call me Mr. Skin taker (Oh skintaker)
I’ll give you a show (Oh Skintaker)
Hear the crashing of the waves (Oh Skintaker
on the ship down below (Please don’t take my own)
Call me Mr. Skin taker (Oh skintaker)
I’ll give you a show (Oh Skintaker)
Hear the crashing of the waves (Oh Skintaker
on the ship down below (Please don’t take my own)
