It’s been a long time coming, but I was finally able to pull some strings, get my shit together and set up a webcomic department for WellHey Productions. I’ve always had a love for comics and graphic novels – not so much loyal to any one brand (DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, etc.), I have just loved this particular method of storytelling.
I remember when comic books were frowned upon when I was a child, they were a waste of time and money. Such frivolous pursuits of costumed characters with their godlike powers. I can remember when comic books were very one-dimensional. Good guys were good and bad guys were bad, but I still had my favorites; X-Men mostly – Gambit to be precise. But then, something happened… I don’ t know when exactly, but it happened. I saw Logan (Wolverine) kill a good guy. I was confused, horrified, even. How could a good guy kill another good guy? It was then I learn that the world wasn’t black and white, but many different shades of gray. And the most important lesson of all, not all good guys are pure and not all bad guys are evil. I am now a particular fan of comics and graphic novels that highlight the shortcomings of the hero and the redeemable qualities of the villain. I have gravitated now to books and series such as Black Lagoon, The Watchmen and The Umbrella Academy.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love The Charles Xavier School for Gifted Children – but just like any adult who has grown up, so have my tastes. I have broadened my pallet. It is because of my love for comics and graphic novels that I have decided to open this new department of WellHey Productions, and hopefully I will be adding to it myself, but for now — There are so many others that need to take the stage.
We start off by proudly presenting the start of an adaptation of a series of short stories written by Wendingus. I first heard the entire series on Mr. Creepypasta’s YouTube channel, narrated by AutumnIvy – and I loved it. It’s about a lone radio DJ who has to keep the air from going silent or else… strange things occur. Even at that, strange things occur already, and she uses her broadcast time to record an audio journal of her day to day experiences with this oddness. You can start the journey HERE.
Make sure you check the WHP Web Comics Page HERE often to see all the comics we will be hosting, and all updates to those comics.
If you have a web comic that you would like to have us host, please use the CONTACT FORM and let us know about it. All credit will go to you and we will link any and all social media you request.
Murphy1976 is the Founder of WellHey Productions. Although, he is considered by some to be one of the most creative creepypasta narrators, he doesn’t tend to classify himself as strictly creepypasta. As the eldest in the Creepy Pasta Network, Murphy is looked upon as a faux-father figure to some, and a grumpy old man to others. Murphy currently resides in Wisconsin, USA.
