When you think of Dating Sims, you don’t generally think “multiplayer”. That’s where the folks at Beautiful Glitch and Those Awesome Guys have the market cornered. PLUS, you can’t go wrong with monsters wanting to bone each other. SO, I got my trusted group of friends Mr. Creepypasta, Creepy Raven, Autumn Ivy, and Twin Skeletons together, and we each took the helm of a monster with the sole goal of wooing, courting and hopefully scoring with one of the popular monster teens at Spooky High: Damien LeVey, Vera Oberlin, Scott Howl, Miranda Vanderbilt, Liam de Lioncourt or Polly Geist.
We all failed miserably.
But that doesn’t matter, we all had fun and that’s the main jist, right? Of course you have your typical scenarios where the object of your affections needs to you make a decision. Depending on that decision, you can earn points or lose points with them, all the while you are earning and/or losing characteristic points for yourself. Want to go swimming in a pirhana-infested swimming pool? That may cost you 3 Boldness points. Think your mummy friend might look better wearing festive crepe paper streamers instead of his old dusty wraps? You just earned 2 Creativity points. In the end, your choices greatly effect your ability to make it or break it with the monster you want to ask to prom.
The replayability of this game is PHENOMENAL! There are endings, secret endings, unlockables, artwork, and PLUS – you can purchase Monster Prom: Second Term along with the original, and add even MORE characters to your “gotta nail” list. With Monster Prom 2 now on Kickstarter, you’ll want to check out the original, and then do what you can to support this next project.
