I know that sooner or later, one of these rants is going to bring me crumbling down and decimate my reputation… and here we go. If you are part of the creepypasta community, or any creative based community, then you’ve probably run into something similar. Butthurt individuals that are pissed at those who give it 110%, so they whine and complain that live’s not fair and this and that and wha wha wha and baby needs a bottle…
I thought I had seen it all, until I saw something occur on Tumblr that just had be seeing blood orange… It was a several hour ordeal of this back and forth bs… me yelling at them, them whining on me… and all that… but it’s still a serious issue that should NOT be swept under the carpet. There are toxic people in every community, and those individuals need to be removed for the good of the community.
…breathe, Murphy, breathe… its over now…
Ok… have yourselves a listen…

Why are we all fighting when we should be working together to help make our small little corner of the world a stronger more inviting one?
I saw something the other day that pissed me off so much, that I couldn’t see straight. Now normally, you all know that I do have anger issues, and that’s why I have these little rants, but JESUS FUCK… this one… irate doesn’t even begin to explain it. After I recall this incident, the offending party will know exactly who I’m talking about, and I don’t care if I stir up the pot a little bit on this one… this bitter stew needs a new fucking recipe.
Now, mind you.. once again… I witnessed this on Tumblr.. the source of all things full of sunshine and rainbows. HA… Rainbow! Anyway… I witnesses a member of the community I belong to, answer a tumblr Ask in the absolute worst way possible.
The conversation was as follows:
Question: Do you have any tips of becoming a narrator?
Answer: Truthfully? Don’t do it! Is my best advice. Its like any vice, you love it and you can’t escape it but in all seriousness. the drama that comes with it. It’s not worth it, trust me!
Now the answer continues on for a few more lines, describing the pains this certain person has gone through and I immediately saw red.. blood orange, even.
HOW DARE YOU! Who the fuck do you think you are telling someone, who is genuinely asking for your help, to not even pursue what they want to do? Who the fuck do you think you are insinuating that this person will fall victim to the same bullshit you ran face first into? Who the fuck do you think you are saying that what this person wants to do, creatively, is not worth it?
No wonder you can’t get anywhere in the community, you hate it here, that is air apparent! but just because you hate it here, doesn’t mean you get to tell others to run away! Yes, I will admit, there is drama in the community… but name ONE that doesn’t have drama? There is going to be drama in ANY GROUP where there are more than 1 person. Egos conflict, tempers flare, sexual frustration ignites, nerves wear down, feelings are hurt, and someone doesn’t become famous overnight…
JESUS CHRIST! SHUT THE WHOLE THING DOWN, CHRIS… YOU DON’T AUTOMATICALLY GET 500 THOUSAND SUBSCRIBERS! WHY EVEN BOTHER!
THIS is what plagues the community that I love so much. Bullshit like this. On one hand, we have someone, who is genuinely interested in joining the community, and is inquisitive on how to make a lasting impression. On the other, a burnt out shell of a person who sees only heartache and bitterness. Now, I put in my two cents when I saw this post, and I hope that I salvaged the recruit, but I shouldn’t have to. If someone is curious about joining… then MY GOD, why are you turning them away?
This is how organizations and communities DIE. Seriously, if this individual were the spokesperson for the community, we would have folded years ago! No wants wants to join a community that harbors people that hold onto such disdain and hatred for the love they once had of it. Are you kidding me? The general consensus around the block is that our community is already full of immature brats and jealous, cut-throat assholes would would rather see you fall on your own face, than help you bolster your creative skills and succeed. And with people like you in the community, I can easily see why the outside world thinks this of us.
You spread your hatred and bitterness into some innocent, and they tell their friends, and they tell their friends, and they tell their friends, and soon.. there’s a whole regime of people that are petitioning to shut the whole community down, because you didn’t get one thousand views on your fucking video this week.
What you are doing, is the exact opposite of what we should be doing. We should be promoting ourselves and leaving our bullshit at home. We should be promoting our own. We should be working to tell the rest of the world, that no matter what, we believe in what we do as individuals AND as a community. We should be inviting new people in with open arms, not shutting them out. We need to inform the public that yes, we like horror stories, but that doesn’t make us horrific. We’re normal people, just like everyone else. Of course there will be drama, but it doesn’t have to be self-perpetuated. We need to remove the individuals that just want to watch the world burn, and make life hell for everyone else, because in the absence of light, people will learn and adapt to see in the dark. We need to be there for each other, help each and everyone of us to succeed, and if we don’t… it shouldn’t matter, because we are being productive and creative in a positive way. Sure we may create visions of horror and the macabre, but there is an entire world of people out there who haven’t heard our stories, who haven’t listened to our music, who haven’t looked upon our art, and pushing those prospective newcomers away is the very opposite of what we strive for in the first place: attention. Oh, you may get negative attention, but in the long run, the ones who made a lasting and positive difference in one’s mind will far exceed the half-life of those who burden them with negativity and hate.
Now a lot more was said in the conversation, but none of it, except what I mentioned touched on this point. Most of it was, you’re all teaming up on me, and i don’t care what you think, and the like… all dodging my main point: NEVER shoo someone away from an opportunity just because you have had a bad experience.
Now unless the majority is on the other side of the fence, that the majority think the community is bad news… THEN, BY ALL MEANS, PREACH IT, SISTER… but that’s not the case here. And for the most part, this argument is a broken record.
95% of the drama that is seen, is self perpetuated. Meaning it is caused or started because someone got butthurt.
90% of all butthurt injuries are self inflicted. Meaning Karma kicked you in the groin for something you did or said
75% of all community members that complain that they are never involved in group activities never try out for them in the first place.
5% of the community members that put over 100% of their time, money and effort into succeeding, succeed. The other 95% put forth minimal or no effort and wonder why they do not have 1 million subscribers on YouTube, which flows right back into the first point of 95% of all drama, is self-perpetuated.
The community is like a ’65 Mustang. Sure you have a fantastic car in the garage, but it’s falling apart at the seams, and needs some serious work. You are NOT going to get a cherry ride if you just let it sit there and rust over. You need to put your all into it and THEN… only then you’ll have your chick magnet, and you’ll be proud of it, because you put so much of yourself into it and it’ll show. Your effort will reflect back on you, it always has, and always will.
If you put nothing but minimal effort into a project, you’ll get minimal results, and you only have yourself to blame, not the rest of the community for your shortcomings.
So unless you want to start pulling your weight, I would greatly suggest you take up a different hobby. I know plenty of people in the community who, wholeheartedly, want to up their game. They want to go about their business, be creative and not bother anyone in the process. And we as leaders of this community need to step it up too. This just isn’t a one way street here. We need to enforce the standards we set and not give into this petty bullshit. We need to hold ourselves accountable for our actions. Hell, if I’m pure wrong about anything, I’m usually the first to admit it. Not only because it’s the right thing to do, but because I want to be an good example. I think we should all strive to be that, a good example. this community is going to be around much longer than any of us will, and we need to leave it in better condition than we found it.
We might not get our deposit back.
