I first saw someone play Catherine on YouTube years ago, and after a friend played it on their channel, it reminded me that I haven’t played it either. So we climbed into bed with a blonde whore, woke up with a bunch of sheep and climbed the tower. The plot it horrific, confusing, and alcohol induced – and more and more I got increasingly upset and fed up with the story’s protagonist, Vincent Brooks, who went from cool dude to indecisive pussy in a few short hours.
The story of Catherine follows Vincent, a mid-level computer programmer who is in a long term relationship with Katherine (with a K). He’s comfortable with his job and relationship and really doesn’t want anything to change. That is until he stays a little later at the bar and meets a beautiful younger woman named Catherine (with a C). They talk, he drinks some more, they get a little chummy, and we wake up in a nightmare where Vincent is climbing a tower of moveable blocks. He wakes up to find that he brought Catherine (with a C) home with him, and he cheated on his girlfriend, whom wants to takes the relationship to the next level.
The game follows Vincent as he makes decisions about whether or not he wants to have order in his life, or if he wants true freedom. You interact with your friends, other patrons at the bar he frequents and try to explain yourself to his girlfriend who grows more and more suspicious with every half-ass wishy washy answer he gives. You can even receive photos from Catherine (with a C), naughty photos, but don’t open them in public, you have a to find a private area to look at this nasty little gems.
The puzzles climbing the tower each night get increasingly more challenging as you discover more techniques on how to climb faster and acquire more points. It may be an older game, but I would still recommend you picking this one up.
