You never know how much you need to change things until you step away from them for a little bit and then look at them with a fresh set of eyes.
After my break and return, I noticed that wellhey.com was SEVERELY outdated with content. So I promptly got cracking on that again. Then I started noticing other things. The site is slow to load, for starters, and some of the plugins were broken and needed repairs or updating, but I wanted to address the speed issue first. After talking with my hosting provider, it seems that my service is not as fast as it could be, because I don’t have the plan that I actually thought I had for a while how to reduce weight quickly. So THAT will surely be changing as soon as I get the funding. But the other thing my CTR told me was that the theme that I’m using was a big part of why the site is slow to load as well. After taking a long hard look at the code, and with the help of some other online speed tools, I have to concur, WHP needs a face lift.
In the next couple weeks, I will be undertaking the revamp of the WHP site and hopefully making it more sleek, and faster. If any of my reader have any suggestions on what they would like to see, please let me know in the comments. I’ve already run through which direction I would like the site to go, but any new perspective would be greatly appreciated.
I’m planning on bringing back Murphy Code counter, which has been sorely missed, and hopefully, if I can get some outside help, the Facebook and Twitter accounts to help spread the word. I’m looking at making the site MUCH simpler, and less IN YOUR FACE, but still uphold that “Colorful Insanity” style to it.
So, for the next few weeks, please pardon our dust as we will be making some needed changes to the site.
