This entire article started with boredom and nostalgia. I missed the days of narrating horror stories, rants, 4Chan green texts, and many others – but of course, I didn’t miss the drama. The drama is what led me to retire from the Creepypasta Community in the first place. It was a commonplace mindset that if you post a video on YouTube, you’ll instantly become internet famous, and the eventual jaded and bitter resentment of people who got more subscribers than you that created this giant rift of people who were self-entitled and those who just wanted to create content. That, along with a giant pickaxe from a few special individuals that forced people to choose sides on certain issues that caused the entire community to sever from itself, and it just hasn’t been the same since.
So, because I actually do miss the art of creation, I talked to some friends to get some suggestions on how I could possibly dive right back in and start up where I left of. Well, YouTube has drastically changed since I started back in 2012, so it’s a bit more complicated than just posting back to your old channel that YouTube has pretty much labeled DEAD. To help in my quest, I was invited to join a new group of young up and coming narrators that, in the short time I’ve talked to them, sound like they truly have what it takes to bring Creepypasta back to its former glory.
They have the desire to help others succeed, rather than just look out for themselves. Numbers mean very little to this new generation of storytellers, and that’s how it should be. That’s how it always should have been. It’s not about quantity, it’s about quality. You could have 100,000 subscribers and not one comment on any of your videos, OR, you could have 5 subscribers and every single video you post is full of “This was awesome!” and “Hey, have you heard of XYZ story. I think you would nail that one out of the park!”. They have the drive to make the community great and help others rise to better themselves. For example, just the other day, a narrator told the group that their channel was magically deleted by the YouTube gods and they were forced to start over. Sure as shit, almost everyone in that room immediately subscribed and spread the word that this narrator was starting over on a new channel, and just like that… they were back in business.
So to celebrate these rejuvenators of the ancient art of storytelling, I would like to showcase them here.

Dark Night Pasta has been listening to creepypasta narrators for years and recently had an opportunity to participate in a small Alternate Reality Game (ARG) run by some friends. He was required to perform from voice acting and immediately fell in love with the medium. After experimenting with audio editing and adding effects to his voice, he knew he wanted to continue, and YouTube seemed the perfect outlet for that. Dead Night Pasta is looking to put a new take on horror narrators. A channel that will continue to change and release new and different content that all incorporate horror. He wants to make his channel more interesting and fun than reading the same stories others have over and over again, while still sticking to the roots of bringing people stories rather than regurgitating the same old popular tales.
Dark Night Pasta’s favorite creepypasta is currently “The Stars Look Very Different Today” by Reddit author “Lord_Bronte”. He wants to be able to continue to learn and grow and enjoys interacting with others in the community. He has high hopes that his work and effort can pay off so that he can collaborate with other narrators and authors in the future.
Sociopathic Pasta

Sociopathic first joined the community in 2014 after he experienced a strange happening related to a creepypasta. Due to the large support he received, Sociopathic decided to invest in YouTube channel. He came up with the idea to make it more of a TV show than a normal channel, giving his audience a completely original story, never heard on another channel before, every single Saturday, featuring live-action intros and outros, much like Tales From The Crypt.
During the past 4.5 years, Sociopathic has made many friends, written well over 100 stories, and gained a following that got close to 20,000 subscribers. He supplemented his channel with smaller, more common stories each Tuesday and Thursday that he calls “Tidbits”.
In his later years, Sociopathic has derived all these from the Wiki. In his early years, Sociopathic was experimenting and retrieved stories from many sources. One of which was urbanlegendsonline.com. Unfortunately and just recently, the author of 3 of these urban legends stories Sociopathic has narrated, discovered his channel and instead of contacting him directly reported 3 of Sociopathic’s videos at once, therefore enabling YouTube to delete his channel instantly, with no chance of recovery.
Sociopathic is now reaching out to the community with a new channel underway, in hopes that my faithful viewers can help bring me back. While he will be keeping his typical Saturday format, Sociopathic is discontinuing “Tidbits” so he will not have to worry about deletion again. These will now be supplemented with 1 live stream reading with a Q&A every single month, and the occasional haunted location Vlog. With your help, Sociopathic, and his new home at “Cleaving Thought From Bone” will be greater than what has been tragically lost.

TalestoChill joined the community because he is a long time fan of some of the other Narrators on YouTube and on Twitter. He loves to have a break from the norm of everyday life and curl up with either a nice creepy book or some creepypasta when he gets home from a long day’s work. TalestoChill has been a fan of horror since he was a child. The first movie TalestoChill remembers seeing when he was 5, was Friday the 13th – Jason takes Manhattan. He instantly became my favorite slasher then and remains so to this day. As far as what TalestoChill can bring to the community, his style is very eclectic. He loves Creepy-pastas, true horror stories, and haunting stories. He is beginning to branch out into some of those other areas and is much looking forward to it. Only time will tell but TalestoChill hopes to be in this community for a very long time to come and look forward to many collaborations with other artists.
He prefers the likes of Jeff the Killer, Laughing Jack, and Smile Dog, some very recognizable characters in the community. TalestoChill is looking to grow as a channel and provider of entertaining content. He would also love to reach a different area of the horror communities and not just Creepypasta. Collaboration is an ongoing goal, and potentially, if he gets to the point, TalestoChill would love the opportunity to host weekly podcasts that dive deep into what terrifies us all.

Two years ago, GothicRose discovered horror narration videos on YouTube and she was instantly hooked! She began listening to the videos at work, and still does, and found that they helped her to fall asleep. GothicRose had always wanted to make YouTube videos, but could never come up with ideas that she could do. A few months ago GothicRose suddenly felt like she wanted to try her hand at narrating.
She began searching for good starter microphones on Amazon, ordered one and that’s when it began for GothicRose.
She started by narrating a story for Swamp Dweller and realized just how much fun it was. GothicRose started to have even more fun when she began talking to a lot of great and talented narrators who have and still offer support and welcoming attitudes. GothicRose has also found that since joining this community, her anxiety and depression have been easier to cope with because of all the positivity this internet family has given her.
GothicRose hopes that she can be just as amazing, friendly and welcoming as everyone else in the Horror Family. Her favorite character in the creepypasta world is Jeff The Killer. GothicRose’s main goal is to improve her narration skills so that she can have a channel that helps comfort and entertain others like other narrators have helped her in the past.

The GrimTale Brothers joined the horror narration community about 2 years ago. They would listen to their favorite narrators almost every night when the two brothers decided to start their own channel surrounded on their love for horror and scaring their audience.
Their main goal is to grow as a channel and build a fan base that is more family than anything.
Don’t Turn Around
YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOTvG8GRkiteKcea98JxirQ
Twitter: @UDontTurnAround
Don’t Turn Around creates horror stories that have been investigated by Snopes.com – as so many people ask if they’re real. From “The Creepy School Bus” to “World’s Scariest Babysitter”, Don’t Turn Around tells stories in a variety of ways; from narration to short films to texting stories. Every single story on Don’t Turn Around is written by Don’t Turn Around and our stories often revolved around disabled protagonists as the voice of Don’t Turn Around is missing a leg.
Don’t Turn Around’s main concern is that there is a lot of unnecessary division in the Creepypasta community. We all love horror but horror behind the scenes and in real life just isn’t where it’s at. Don’t Turn around wants people to tune in knowing they’re going to get an original creep every week; be it a texting story, a narration or something else. They change it up, which to them makes it more exciting as if you go down that same alleyway all the time boredom and monotony can strike quickly. The best moments are when you walk down that alleyway and something you never expect comes at you.
Horror Stories From The Clown

IMDB: Bleeding Critic
Horror Stories from The Clown (HSTC) started creating video film reviews 7 years ago because he was frustrated with film reviewers always talking about plot. He decided to be anonymous to introduce mystery and created the character Bleeding Critic. HSTC had his mask especially made by ‘Coulier Creatures’ who are the prosthetics team behind The Harry Potter films & most recently the remake of ‘Suspiria’. Then HSTC decided to create the most interactive horror platform where their horror audience can be actually seen & new & existing talent can have their short horror films introduced by him & seen by his audience. The platform HSTC created is bleedingcritic.com and his audience are seen talking about moments from films that scared them…this section is called HORROR MEMORIES. They also share real-life paranormal & creepy experiences in the section called HORROR THERAPY.
HSTC also started writing his own brand of horror stories which was known as ‘Horror Medication’. William Friedkin Film Director of THE EXORCIST (1973) became his Twitter-mate & introduces him on his website. As HSTC’s audience on twitter @fromtheclown grew to over 25K on Twitter, he created a YouTube Channel focusing on weekly videos of his stories and subscriber stories PLUS interacting with everyone who contacts him. What gives HSTC the edge on YouTube is that when he narrates a story it doesn’t sound like he’s reading…it sounds as though he’s actually experiencing what he is saying. Recently HSTC was commissioned by LIONSGATE to write, produce & narrate a story for his channel to accompany the release of their new film ‘The Leprechaun Returns.’
HSTC’s goal is to continue to support writing talent and to encourage the community to actually watch and listen to each other’s work instead of being obsessed by numbers.
Spirit Voices

Spirit Voices has wanted to be an author since she was a very little kid, and from that young age, she’s had such a strong passion and love for fiction writing. It’s been a part of Spirit Voices’ life for as long as she can remember, so she’s been reading and writing just as long. Spirit Voices used to LOVE to read books and stories aloud, and as she grew older, it just became a part of her editing process! She’d read the lines of dialogue to make sure they sounded natural, and she’d record herself reading her story so she could listen back to it and correct any awkward wording. One day, Spirit Voices just decided to take it to the next level. She had grown enough that her voice sounds pretty soothing, so why not give it a shot and see what happens?
YouTube is definitely a creative outlet for Spirit Voices, and a way to grow as a person as well! It’s incredibly fun, and she’s made so many online friends along the way. She’s not in it for the money (even though it might be nice to have a little extra funding for school), or the popularity — it’s just a fun experience and hobby for me and she wants to show what she can do and improve herself along the way. That kind of perspective is always nice in the community! Spirit Voices want to bring love, positivity, support, and a safe space for people to come and listen to her narrations to maybe help them sleep, or make them cry, or think about their life in a way they never expected. She absolutely can’t wait to see where it takes me and how far she’ll go!
Spirit Voices main goal for my YouTube channel was, and always will be, get out stories that have never been read before, in order to give those authors the publicity they deserve. She feels like people often tend to go for the easy, popular stories that everyone wants to hear because they’re familiar and good, but Spirit Voices’ goal is to bring the stories that haven’t been heard before to the light, so the authors can get some much-needed recognition! As an author herself, she knows how hard it is to get your name out there– so anything she can do to help (while having fun along the way) is awesome for her!
What she wants most is that Spirit Voices’ channel is there for support. She wants to help other YouTubers who might want to do this for a living achieve that goal, bring stories to life that nobody has heard, and make herself proud by producing quality narrations that even she can enjoy. Spirit Voices listens to every single video and narration at least three times over before she releases it or sends it to anyone, and that practice means a lot for her! She wants everyone to know that she’s here to help and have fun and maybe give a few people some chills, and really, that’s all she needs for her to consider her channel a success!

Maskino has watched horror movies with his dad and grew up on them. He’s loved to watch the good, the bad, and even the ugly Syfy originals. But now having a new generation to supply his need for spooks from the fans themselves is fantastic. Maskino loved the interactions with fellow fans and authors and narrators and all the art and collaborations he’s seen blossom from it. He hopes to, in some small way, leave a positive impact on someone as many others have done for him. Maskino is a big fan of Slenderman, because who doesn’t love a well-dressed monster.
Maskino’s focus is to help the community grow and reach as many individuals as possible who have similar interests in horror and being to help anyone who may need it to develop within the community. He hopes for his channel to grow into a healthy collection of fans and friends and hopefully at some point have enough support from its earnings to donate to good causes for those in need.
Murphy1976 is the Founder of WellHey Productions. Although, he is considered by some to be one of the most creative creepypasta narrators, he doesn’t tend to classify himself as strictly creepypasta. As the eldest in the Creepy Pasta Network, Murphy is looked upon as a faux-father figure to some, and a grumpy old man to others. Murphy currently resides in Wisconsin, USA.
