So as I was showing off the functionality of the Ratings Plugin I have for Wellhey.com, I noticed something funny… THEY WERE TURNED OFF! I recently had a run in with my hosting service, and instead of fixing the issue, the CSR suggested that I swap themes for a moment to make sure the internal database issue wasn’t a product of a “faulty” theme… that’s like your mechanic to turn on your wiper blades to check what’s wrong with the engine!
Suffice to say, I was not happy, when I swapped back and ALL my site settings were GONE! POOF! BYE-BYE! ADIOS! SAYONARA!
I was, in fact, livid! I also jammed my hand through the phone and strangled the CSR when all she could tell me was “Sorry. That is really unfortunate!”
I WILL CHOKE THE LIFE OUT OF YOU!
Luckily, I was able to find a backup copy and everything was “sort-of” back to normal. I still has to remember some of the settings, and plug them back in by hand, but most of the important ones were reinstated. After, tearing the CSR’s manager a new one about how serious IT-Support can’t just be solved with a simple “Did you try restarting it?” answer. I proceeded to reset the site. I guess I missed the Post Rating switch.
So I encourage all of you new and old visitors to the site to please rate the posts from one (1) to five (5) jingle bells. It actually helps me determine what videos to create next based on what my audience likes and dislikes.
